New Alcohol Compliance and Capacity Assessment from Maine Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages and Lottery Operations

Full report here

The report, Alcohol Compliance and Capacity Assessment: A Maine Spotlight, provides a comprehensive look at alcohol enforcement and regulatory compliance capacity across 46 states. While the report was produced for Maine, every state will benefit from this report as it contains state-by-state comparisons to help you understand where your state stands with its own alcohol enforcement and regulatory capacity resources.

In recent years, we have seen unprecedented alcohol policy changes, mostly to expand access and availability of alcohol in our communities, with little discussion or regard for how these policies will impact current alcohol enforcement and regulatory resources to monitor the new expansions.

To our knowledge, this is one of the first reports to assess this capacity, providing valuable data for states to better understand their capacity and how it relates to other states.

This qualitative study will provide you with one state’s story for how it used these data to tell its story on its reduced capacity of alcohol enforcement and regulatory resources, while also providing you with information on how you can access these data to tell your own state’s story on this important topic.

This landmark report is one we have been waiting on for several months to be made public, and we are excited to bring this valuable report, data and presentation to you as we resume our meetings on September 7. We hope to see you there!
